About DJ Slipwax:

DJ Slipwax has been a turntablist and musician for 12 years. He has expanded traditional DJing to include modernizing and mastering the scratch, mixing, the DJ competition routine, beat making and production, original sampling and composing as well as live performance for various audiences.

Slipwax may very well be one of the hardest working DJs in New England. Not only is he a member of the Deck Demons, the #2 DJ squad in the USA (2006 DMC runner's up), but he is involved with a multitude of HipHop artists from New York to Maine. He performs multiple times per week, and has made beats or recorded scratches for many MCs and HipHop groups.

Some of the more well known artists he has worked with at a professional level are Slaine, Reef the Lost Cause, Blaq Poet, Vice Versa, The GZA, Jus Allah, Special Teams, NABO RAWK, BombShot, and Elemental Zazen. Each of these artists has released at least 1 album which featured DJ Slipwax on 1 or more tracks.

Slipwax also serves as Boston's 'resident DJ' for live performances by multiple national acts while they visit Boston. Among these artists are KRS ONE, Sean Price, Ill Bill, Wu Tang Clan members and Mobb Deep members. Many of these shows were organized by Leedz Edutainment (Best of Boston, 2007), for whom DJ Slipwax often serves as the 'go-to' show DJ.

Slipwax's beats and music break the boundries of traditional Hip Hop. He uses original samples to make breakbeat, metal and industrial tracks and the music often has an edge or uniqueness that many artists seek. He remains at the forefront by using innovative turntable techniques to hone his individual style. His original music also shows much potential for various applications such as movie scores, video game scores, and commercial applications because of this ability to create a wide variety of music.

DJ Slipwax is currently working on his debut solo album, "Slippery when Wax." He is also scheduled to accompany Hip Hop artist Slaine on a mini-tour of Philadelphia and the upper east coast in October of 2008.
